In the mean while I can tell you for an 8 month old you will probably need to add about 2 more increase rounds to the newborn pattern before working the straight rounds. This will give you 72 stitches after rnd 7. And that should put the hat up to about 16 inches around.

If you have any more questions just let me know! :)Aprilhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03063018674102899237noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7797548172235450894.post-63604474056694616532013-07-03T15:00:12.317-04:002013-07-03T15:00:12.317-04:00This hat is sooooo cute exactly what I am looking ...This hat is sooooo cute exactly what I am looking for. As long as you use the hook size that gets the gauge, it will turn out to the same size as mine.

Just a side note: I used the sizing standards from Bev's Country Cottage for these hat sizes.Aprilhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03063018674102899237noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7797548172235450894.post-56926342171574215592012-05-31T12:43:26.372-04:002012-05-31T12:43:26.372-04:00These are great patterns! ...These are great patterns! Thank you for posting!

I do have a quick question, though. Are you using a G hook or a G-6 hook? I only ask because I followed the 7+ newborn hat and it seems that it would fit more of a 3 month head. It just seems so HUGE lol. Granted, it's been almost 2 years since my last newborn, but all of my kids were over 7 lbs. and the large preemie/5-6lb newborn hat looks like it would fit them better. The Ninjahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04691730063526487677noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7797548172235450894.post-76633076139761163522012-05-03T22:44:27.853-04:002012-05-03T22:44:27.853-04:00Cute and quick hat. Of course a part of me knows every pattern has a creator, but names and contact info aren’t always at hand. In the interest of truth I suppose I should say I am rather compelled to send these notes, my Dear Old Sainted Mother was rather a stickler for thank you notes, and promised me a good old fashion haunting should I fail. I’m inclined to believe her, to my knowledge she only lied to me once, and that at about the age of three; she told me, strait faced, the fried green tomatoes she set before me was meat with seeds. I didn’t fall for the ploy; I was three, not stupid.
