Cupcake Bookmark


Cupcake Bookmark

Materials: (US) size 7 steel hook, size 10 cotton thread: green; pink; red, tapestry needle (for weaving in ends)

CUPCAKE

With green, ch 9

Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, ch 1, turn.

Rows 2-9: working in BLO, sc across, ch 1, turn.

Row 10: working in BLO sc in first st and in each st scross, ch 1, working along end of rows, sc in end of rows 9, 7, and 5, ch 85, sl st in 6th ch from hook, (ch 5, sl st in same st as last sl st) twice, sl st in each ch back to bottom of cupcake, sc in ends of rows 5, 3, and 1, ch 1, working along opposite side of row 1, sc in each ch across, fasten off.

ICING:

Row 1: Join pink with sl st in end of row 10, ch 3, 4 dc in same st, sc in end of row 1, 5 dc in end of row 3, sc in end of row 5, 5 dc in end of row 7, sc in end of row 9, 5 dc in end of row 10, turn.

Row 2: skipping first st, sl st in each of next 2 sts, sc in same st, **skip next 2 dc, 5 dc in next sc, skip next 2 dc, sc in next st, rep from ** twice more, turn.

Row 3: skipping first st, sl st in each of next 2 sts, sc in same st, **skip next 2 dc, 5 dc in next sc, skip next 2 dc, sc in next st, rep from ** once more, turn.

Row 4: skipping first st, sl st in each of next 2 sts, sc in same st, skip next 2 dc, 5 dc in next sc, skip next 2 dc, sc in next st, fasten off.

CHERRY:
Join red with sl st in center dc of Icing Row 4, ch 2, *yo, insert hook into same st, yo and draw up loop, yo, draw through 2 loops, rep from * 3 times more, yo, draw through all loops on hook, ch 1, fasten off, weave in all ends.

  1. if i do the icing part row 1 at the row 10 join chain 3 dc4 in same stich, then sc in row on it folds the pattern in half , can you help explane it more.

  2. I would also like an more detailed explanation for the start of the icing pattern where you go from end of row ten, do severl stitches in that space and then go directly to row one with nothing in between. Am I missing something?

  4. Because row 10 is worked around 3/4 of the cupcake bottom, row one and ten are actually side by side.

My mother is 91 years old and she does small work for a small store in town, she also donates some of her work to the DAR, she wants to know if you would allow her to use the cupcake bookmark not only for the DAR but to also sell to the store where she sells her items if we make a tag "Cupcake created and designed by April at "Crochet Amore" and crocheted by Helen, thank you, Shirley

  9. God Bless you April...this means alot to my Mom...she will be 91 in July and is still very active in her crochet work..the lady who owns the shop goes crazy over all the small items my Mom makes..you have made her day...tks again..Shirley and Helen
